Trouble in Terrorist Town (TTT) Tips and Tricks

Trouble in Terrorist Town puts its players into a scenario where they are a group of terrorists with traitors among their ranks. The innocents must team up to find out who is a dastardly traitor, while the Traitors must kill all the Innocents.
If you’re new to the gamemode, read this for a basic how-to on TTT. For the rules, please see the Basic Rules and the Advanced Rules.

    Player Roles

    Innocent –
    • Innocents must team up to prove their innocence, and to find out who the traitors are.
    • Help the Detective to catch the Traitors by calling them to corpses - the Traitor may have left DNA on it, or other helpful evidence.
    • Identify dead bodies to find out who they were, and how they died. This will make them appear as ‘Confirmed Dead’ in the tab menu.
    • Press tab to bring up a list of players. This list is separated into ‘Terrorists’, ‘Confirmed Dead’ and ‘Spectators’.
    Detective –
    • Detectives must find out who the traitors are, and kill them whilst making sure all the innocents survive.
    • Pressing C will open a menu with weapons, shields, and other gadgets to catch the Traitors and protect your fellow Innocents. However, you will only start with 1 credit, so choose wisely. As with traitors, you can pick up credits from bodies. Each Traitor killed will automatically give you a credit as well.
    • As a Detective, you can use your DNA scanner on a corpse to retrieve the DNA of their killer. The DNA decays after a short time, so make sure to be quick to dead bodies!
    • Every round, the detective is able to make one Life Check which must be advertised in the global chat, via pressing Y. Anyone who does not respond and say that they're alive, will be KOSed. Only one Life Check can be performed each round, meaning that if there is more than one detective in the game, then another detective cannot make another Life Check. You should use this command strategically amongst your fellow Detectives.
    Traitors –
    • Traitors must kill all of the innocents, at any cost.
    • Pressing C will open a menu of weapons, radar, and other tools to help kill all of the Innocents. You will start with 2-3 credits to spend, but you will get more from killing innocents and from your fallen fellow traitors.
    • You are outnumbered 3 to 1, so you must be sneaky, to avoid detection.
    • The detective is your greatest threat - aim to kill them first, and make sure their DNA scanner does not fall into innocent hands.
    • Hold your sprint key to communicate with your fellow Traitors via voice. One can also press U to type to them secretly.
    • Players that are killed, but their bodies have not been identified will appear as ‘Missing in Action’ on your tab menu - use this to your advantage as innocents will think they are still alive.
    The Rules

    Terminology -
    • RDM - This means “Random Deathmatch” and refers to players killing/attacking other players for no reason..
    • Slay - A staff member can slay you either at the start of the round or mid-game. This kills you instantly and prevents you from playing until the next round starts.
    • Aslay/auto-slay - A staff member can add an auto-slay, which will kill you at the start of the next round. More than one auto-slay will kill you at the start of however many rounds is specified.
    • Kick - You will be disconnected from the server, and will have to rejoin.
    • Ban - you will be unable to join the server, either for a set period of time or permanently.
    • Prop Killing - The act of using a prop held by your Magneto-stick to kill or cause damage to other players.
    • Prop Surfing - Abusing props to lift players into the air.
    TTT Events
    • Team Deathmatch - This event splits players into two teams, Detectives & Traitors. Each team must fight against each other until one player from one of the Teams is remaining.

    • Stalker - This event is inspired from Hidden: Source. This is a normal round of TTT with the same objectives. The only difference is that the Traitors are disguised (You cannot see their name when you look at them) and are barely visible with a faint yellow outline. They are also equipped with their only weapon, a knife. They can walk faster and also have the ability to long jump. When the Traitors have taken damage or have swung the knife, they are now as visible as they would usually be and will stay in this state for a couple of seconds, until they're back to being only partially visible. This makes things very easy for Innocents to pick out who the Traitors are, so that they can eliminate them as quickly as possible to win.

    • Shuffle Deathmatch - Players are split into detectives and traitors, but killing a player makes them part of your team. Everyone has three lives.

    • Dodgeball - This event splits players into two teams (Detectives and Traitors) and equips them with dodge balls.

    • Headshot War - The true demonstration of skill; everyone is given desert eagle and only headshots count.

    • Bighead - Makes everyone's head bigger for a round!

    • Deathmatch - This event is a Free For All, where everyone is a Traitor and must slaughter everyone they see in their path!

    • Chaos - This event is a Free For All, however everyone is equipped with the most dangerous and powerful weapons and tools from the T Menu! This gamemode was courtesy of @MCDude16 coming up with the idea for a new TTT Event.

    Enforcing the Rules

When staff are on the server, please leave all enforcing of the rules (e.g. Telling people why they are breaking the rules, why they are being slain etc.) to staff. This avoids confusion, and staff having to repeat something several times. When there are no staff online, please speak to Trusted and Trusted Donator players if someone is breaking the rules.

    Traitor Baiting

Traitor baiting is the act of shooting around another player to bait them into RDMing the shooter. For example, shooting the wall close to someone’s head would count as T baiting, whereas shooting the floor several feet away would not. It is classed as Traitor baiting when it appears to staff online that the shooter was trying to kill the victim. Traitor baiting counts as attempted RDM, and is a KOSable offence, as well as a slayable one.

    Game-Throwing

Game-Throwing is the act of knowingly helping Traitors as an Innocent, or vice versa. One example is using the Detective’s defibrillator to revive a Traitor. This completely throws the game, as normally the Detective is the one person who would be guaranteed not to have revived a Traitor.

    Crowbarring Players

Crowbarring a player once will deal 20 damage. If you are crowbarred once you can decide whether or not to KOS the player who damaged you. Crowbarring another player more than once is KOS regardless.

    Rules on AFK Players

It is against our rules to kill AFK players. If you are going to go AFK, please press F1, click the Settings tab, scroll down to the bottom, and tick the box saying “Spectate-only Mode”. This will change your team to Spectator. To change back again, just un-tick the box when you come back.

    Player Roles

    Innocent –
    • You must not attack or destroy Traitor testers or Health Stations put down by a Detective.
    • If you are revived by the Detective, you cannot take action on information you got while you were dead.
    • You must give other Innocents a chance to ID bodies they may have missed while walking past them.
    Detective –
    • One of the weapons found in the Detective menu, the Golden Deagle, acts similarly to a Traitor Tester. If one shoots a Traitor with this gun, the Traitor will die. However if one shoots an Innocent, one will die themselves. Because of this aspect of randomness, killing Traitors with this gun does not count as RDM.
    • Detectives cannot order players to kill each other, unless there are only two non-proven players left.
    Traitors –
    • You must not shoot/harm your fellow traitors. That includes warning them about anything you might do which could harm them (e.g. suicide bombing)
    • You must not reveal who your fellow Traitors are.
    • Boom Bodies are false bodies that Traitors can buy from the C menu. It will appear as an unidentified body, and as such, must be identified by Innocents. This is just another way for Traitors to call a false KOS on Innocents (If they do not ID the body).
    Specific Map Rules

    Airbus
    • Blocking doors in spawn is KOS. (This is also a slayable offence if done in the warmup period.)
    • If players get stuck outside the T trap doors, they will be slain, as they should be dead.
    • Activating the panel in the spawn, which allows Traitors to use the Spawn Turret, is KOS.
    Community Pool
    • Using props to block the water drop by the ladders down to the tester room is KOS and a slayable offence as Innocent.
    TTT Events
    • Team Deathmatch - All rules apply to this event, including RDM and players will be punished if they are found breaking them.

    • Stalker - All rules apply to this event, including RDM and players will be punished if they are found breaking them. It is very obvious for Innocents to know who the Traitors are, because they're either Invisible, Carrying a knife (This is an exception if the secret knife has been found on the map, Community Bowling), being able to long jump, you cannot see their name when you look at them, or if they can walk faster than usual; This means that there would be no excuse to RDM without doing it on purpose or by accident.

    • Shuffle Deathmatch - All rules apply to this event, including RDM and players will be punished if they are found breaking them.

    • Dodgeball - All rules apply to this event, including RDM and players will be punished if they are found breaking them, however RDM is an exception in SOME circumstances as it is very easy to kill or damage someone on your team. This is NOT an excuse to RDM, and you still can be punished for it, if staff interpret it reasonably that you are doing it intentionally to ruin the game for others.

    • Headshot War - All rules apply to this event, except RDM.

    • Bighead - All rules apply to this event, including RDM and players will be punished if they are found breaking them.

    • Deathmatch - All rules apply to this event, apart from RDMing, as it is a Free For All to kill to anyone they wish.

    • Chaos - All rules apply to this event, apart from RDMing, as it is a Free For All to kill to anyone they wish.

    What is Deathrun?
    What is Deathrun?
In Deathrun, you will automatically be assigned to a team each round. These teams are broken up into two categories: “Runners” and “Deaths”. These teams have their own specific intentions on what to do.

The intention of the Runner is to make it through an obstacle course. The Deaths control the obstacle course by pressing buttons that control the traps. These traps will vary from map to map and they won’t all be the same type of trap. The Runners try to trick the Deaths into thinking that they are going to jump in the trap by any way possible. The Deaths try to get the runners killed with these traps. At the end of each obstacle course there is a “final challenge” for both Runners and Deaths. In most cases the Runners have a small or big advantage. The round ends when either all Runners get killed in the traps or when there is a no one left in a team in the final challenge.

    Rules
    • Do not time-waste or deliberately delay the round.
    • Do not run ahead and set off traps before the runners reach that point (trapspamming).
    • Do not use traps that other deaths have claimed by standing near it (trapstealing).
    • Do not block traps so that other deaths cannot press the button.
    • Do not leave death areas when you are a death.
    • Do not avoid being a death (e.g by killing yourself, leaving and rejoining etc.)
    • Do not exploit the map.
    • If when you roll the dice you are ignited, do not walk or fly around to attempt to kill other runners/deaths.
    • Do not spawn camp.
Freeruns are allowed on our server but they are also subject to their own rules
    • Freeruns must be given before the use of any traps, you cannot give freeruns after using a trap.
    • Calling freeruns every time you are death will be considered death avoiding.
    • Once you call a freerun, you are not allowed to “change your mind”, once called, a freerun lasts the whole round no exceptions.
    • You cannot call a freerun for specific people, freeruns apply to everyone in the server, or no one.
    • If there is more than one death, and one decides to call a freerun, it does not mean the other death(s) must adhere to the freerun. And once seeing the other deaths continue to use traps, the death who called a freerun can then use traps again. It is up to the runners to keep track of who has or has not called a freerun.

How will I be punished if I do not follow the rules correctly?
    • After your first offence you will be slain, muted or gagged as a warning. These punishments will be given out depending on the rule broken.
    • If you continue to break the rules, you will be kicked from the server.
    • If after being kicked you persist doing what you have been asked not to do, you will be banned, the length of the ban depending on the severity of the issue.
If you feel there should be an addition to these rules, please contact @Borthy .

    Thanks,

  • Jailbreak - Rules

These rules are correct as of 08/01/18. These rules can be interpreted by any staff members and they have full discretion to carry out whatever punishments they see fit at any time..

    How to play
Jailbreak is a game mode that involves a team of Guards and Prisoners.

At the beginning of each round, a warden is chosen from the guard team. They are the 'head guard' and it is their responsibility to give orders for the prisoners to complete. The other guards simply enforce the warden's rules. The warden must give an order before 9:00 or before the cell doors open, otherwise it is declared a Free day

The prisoners can choose to either obey the warden's commands for a chance to compete for a Last Request or rebel against the guards to try overthrow them.

The warden's job is to eliminate the prisoners one by one by making them compete in activities against each other. Some popular activities to play can be found in our Tips and Tricks. The last prisoner standing will receive a Last Request, providing the warden is still alive at the end of the round.

    Chill Gamers Server rules
These rules are in place across all Gentlemen Gamers servers.
If you need to report someone, please use the admin chat. Staff are more likely to see your issue. To use admin chat, put the @ symbol before your message.
    • Be respectful and civil towards your fellow players. We are all here to have a good time.
    • No bad-mouthing the server or anyone in/affiliated with it. Doing so will get a instant, harsh punishment.
    • No hate speech, including but not limited to; ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, nationality and religion.
    • No disruptive arguments/discussions in global chat.
    • No means no. Stop means stop. If you are starting to get on someone's nerves, understand your boundaries and stop when asked to.
    • No spamming chat or mic.
    • “Spam” includes a high volume of lines and/or repeated characters entered into chat.
    • It also includes keeping your microphone held down, screaming excessively into your mic or non stop talking so other people do not have a chance.
    • No excessive swearing.
    • Don’t use swearing as general vocabulary. Keep it to a couple words only when the need arises.
    • Do not argue with staff. Doing so will lead to a more severe punishment.
How will I get punished if I break a rule?
Staff will punish you differently depending on the nature and severity of the issue. The following are used as guidelines only. Remember, the staff always have the final say.
    • 1st offense - Warning
    • 2nd offense - Slay or Team swap
    • 3rd offense - TeamSwap or Kick
    • 4th offense - Ban
If you have been banned and would like to know more information on how to appeal click here. If you want to make a complaint about a staff member, please send an email to our complaints inbox.

    Jailbreak Player Rules
These rules must be met by both the prisoners and the guards. The staff will punish you accordingly if these rules are broken.
    • Do not door-spam.
    • No trolling.
    • Do not prop kill or use props to your advantage. (this includes map features and not only props)
    • Microphone usage may be taken away from you if staff members deem it appropriate.
    • Guards and Prisoners are not allowed to close the cell doors after a guard has opened them.
    KOS activities
The following are KOS by default. The warden can add or change KOS activities during the round, however, they will revert back to these if the they die. Activities with a * mean they leave the prisoner KOS for the entire round.
    • *Causing harm to guards (Prisoners are allowed to punch a guard once! 2 punches are KOS)
    • Having a weapon unholstered (Guards must ask the prisoner to drop holstered weapons within a reasonable time if they have evidence to suggest they have one. This includes holstering an unholstered weapon.)
    • Being inside the following zones:
      • Anywhere the warden states as KOS during the round
      • Armouries
      • Guard Towers
      • Helicopter
      • Guard Catwalks
      • External Rooftops (Excluding the map 'Canyon Dam' + 'Kittens')
      • Ladders leading to KOS zones
      • Vent systems
      • Cage leading to armoury on Canyondam
If a prisoner manages to escape the area before they are killed, they are no longer KOS
On New Summer, the entire armoury building is KOS starting from the red carpet

    Illegal zones
The following areas are out of bounds. You will be kicked or slain if found to be in any of them.
    • Secret 'pod' on Sand including the one in the climb box.
    Banned warday locations
You are not allowed to have a warday in these locations under any circumstances.
    • Armouries
    • Cells
    • On the way to the armoury from the cells
    • Teleport towers - Lego
    • Helicopter - New Summer
    • Crate teleport room - Electric
    • Any rooms where guards can see out of but prisoners cannot see inside.
    Guard specific rules
These rules apply to the guards team only. This includes the warden.
    • Respect your role as a guard and do not sabotage the round or make it easier for the prisoners to rebel. For example, do not laze around instead of actively helping keep control of the prison. Do not gunplant etc.
    • Do not RDM (killing a prisoner without a justified reason)
    • Guards are not allowed to camp in KOS areas
    • Guards must not camp cells that contain breakable vents or windows. This would be classed as KOS camping
    • Do not randomly throw smoke grenades
    • Cell doors must stay open once they have been opened at the beginning of the round
    • One punch is NOT KOS unless the warden states. Guards may only taze once for one punch. Two punches are KOS otherwise
    • Guards must ask prisoners to drop holstered weapons within a reasonable time if they have evidence to suggest they have one. This includes holstering an unholstered weapon
    • Guards cannot pick up secret weapons
    • Guards may not enter the cells on extermination day
    • Guards may not crowdsurf
    • Guards may not kill prisoners on a hide and seek day before they are allowed to leave the armoury (Unless they are an active threat)
    • Guards may not interfere with a prisoner's last request. The prisoner may not be killed because they killed a guard during the last request battle. If a prisoner has rebelled and is KOS, guards may still kill them during the last request. For example, a warday or a prisoner using F4 to evade death
    • When the warden dies, their previous orders no longer stand For example, one punch is KOS would revert back to 2 punches are KOS
    • "Last guard kills all" is not allowed
    Warden specific rules
These rules apply to the warden only.
    • Do not claim warden if you don't have a microphone and other guards with mics are willing to warden
    • You may only make it a freeday, warday, hide and seek day or a Hunger games day without a Microphone
    • You may KOS prisoners who speak over you, however, you may not KOS mic usage in general
    • The warden may only enable Friendly Fire when making prisoners compete in a dedicated player vs player activity
    • Please give a minimum of 10 seconds for prisoners to prepare for actions that will make them KOS. E.g. A bed day, Extermination day, Line up and AFK freeze etc.
    • If the warden states otherwise you are KOS after a command, it guarantees the prisoner's safety if they complete the command. For example 'KOS outside of cells' would be overridden if the warden stated "Come to my waypoint (outside of cells) or you're KOS". It would not be overridden if the warden said "Come to my waypoint (outside of cells)".
    • Last Requests and Death requests can be denied by the warden if they can give a justified reason to deny themThe warden should take into account that the prisoners have earned a Last Request.
    • The warden can say that certain activities will be classed as 'KOS Activities' such as breaking into the vents in Black Ops or breaking the window in New Summer, but if the warden dies, these rules will no longer stand
    • Prisoners cannot be made KOS because of other prisoners actions unless it is part of a competitive game.
    • Opposite day is banned.
    • The warden can not KOS server commands/features. For example, the warden can't force players to !rtv or kill them because they did not give them PointShop points etc.
    • Laying traps for prisoners are allowed, however any missleading KOS (Kill on Sight) commands - i.e KFC KLS KOC, are slayable for wardens.
    • You can KOS a prisoner claiming Simon Says on Simon Says day.

    Kill on Sight (KOS)

This is an important aspect in the game. Players may shout out “KOS [Username]!”. That means that the next time you see that player, you must shoot them. It is important that you know what can and can’t be KOS as if you do it incorrectly (False KOS) you can be punished by Staff.

    Ghosting

Ghosting is the act of using information gained from outside the game (e.g. TeamSpeak, through Steam messages or through looking at the logs mid-round as a staff member). Ghosting will result in a kick from the server, and also one auto-slay.

Players may call KOS on you for the following reasons –
    • You are seen attacking other players without a clear reason.
    • You are seen killing another player and do not explain why.
    • You are seen near an unidentified body, which you clearly saw, but did not identify. Other players are required to give you a chance to ID the body if there is a chance you could have missed it.
    • If someone is holding a weapon only traitors can have, without declaring that they have it (an innocent could have a traitor-only weapon from a dead traitor, or they could be a traitor and lie about where they got it).
    • Refusing to obey a Detective’s orders (i.e. refusing to use a traitor tester).
    • Breaking a traitor tester or health station.
    • Being seen activating a traitor trap.
    • Not attacking someone who is KOS.
    • Being the only person left who is not proven innocent.
    • Doing something which may kill others (Throwing a discombobulator on the top of a roof, for example).
    • Not reporting danger (The sound of C4 etc.).
    • Calling out a false KOS on a player as an Innocent.
    • Prop blocking (Holding a prop to block doors, vents, etc).
    • Prop killing other players (Also a slayable offence as Innocent).
    • Pretending/joking about being a Traitor.
    • Crowbarring a player once. (This is also a slayable offence if you are found to be an Innocent and and if the victim decides to KOS/Kill you for it)
    • If someone is purposely following you, you may KOS them after giving them 3 warnings,
with 5 seconds between each warning. (this does not mean that if someone is going into the same direction,
      you can just shoot them)
    • If someone is purposely blocking you from moving/leaving, you may KOS them after giving them 3 warnings,
with 3 seconds between each warning.
    • Blocking doorways that can stop players from evading danger; i.e. C4, Jihad, RPG, etc. (Also a slayable offence if found to be Innocent)
    • An Innocent is threatening to kill you. (This KOS can only be made by the player that is being threatened and cannot be used against Detectives)
    Player Roles

    Innocent –
    • You must only shoot other players in self-defence or if there is a KOS on that player.
    • You must not shoot detectives unless it is in self-defence.
    • You must presume all other players to be innocent until they are declared KOS.
    • You must obey orders given by a Detective. (This rule does not apply when Detectives give out unreasonable orders - for example, if they tell all innocents to shoot each other until the traitor is found)
    • You must call KOS on another player doing anything in the KOS section of these rules.
    • You must announce if you have picked up a Traitor weapon (e.g. Riot Shield, RPG, silenced weapons) to avoid being KOSed for having one.
    • You must identify any corpses you see. This updates who is counted as dead in the tab menu.
    Detective –
    • You must obey the innocent rules listed above, apart from obeying other Detectives - they are equal to you.
    • One of the weapons found in the Detective menu, the Golden Deagle, acts similarly to a Traitor Tester. If the player with the gun shoots a Traitor, the Traitor will die. If they shoot an Innocent, however, they will die instead. Therefore killing a traitor with this is not RDM.
    • Detectives cannot order players to AFK-freeze at any time.
    • You will be able to make one Life Check which must be advertised via chat. If someone does not respond to the Life Check then you may KOS them.
    Traitors –
    • You must not shoot/harm your fellow traitors. This includes warning them about anything you might do which could harm them (e.g. C4, Jihad bomb etc.)
    • You must not reveal who your fellow Traitors are.
    • Don't delay rounds as Traitor, an example is camping (45 seconds) into the Traitor room.
    Breaking the Rules -

    Terminology -
    • RDM - The term “RDM” means “Random Deathmatch” and refers to players killing/attacking other players for no reason. RDM on an innocent is 1 slay and RDM on a Traitor or Detective is 2 slays!
    • Slay - A staff member can ‘slay’ you either at the start of the round or mid-game.
    • Punishments and Reasons - these are not set in stone and open to reasonable interpretation by staff

    • Mass RDMing continuously during the round (Will also result in a ban).
    • Prop Surfing
    • Continuously camping Traitor rooms after warnings by staff.
    • Exploiting maps - i.e. using props or boosting on other players to escape the map.
